What is Susan Shaw jewelry made of?

All Susan Shaw jewelry is either 24K handcast gold plated or handcast sterling silver plated. Handcasting is a plating method done by hand. This method produces the most consistent and highest-quality plating possible and is far superior to standard machine plating. Our pieces are handcast with three coats of 24K gold or sterling silver. All items are plated over a lead-free base metal.

How do I make a return to Susan Shaw?

Please review our full returns policy to ensure your item qualifies for a return. To start the return & exchange process, follow the below steps:

• Visit returns.susanshaw.com 
• Enter your order number, which can be found in your confirmation email and on your packing slip, as well as your shipping zip code or email address.
• Download and print your pre-paid shipping label and your return packing slip to send the jewelry back to us.
• When sending the jewelry back, include your printed return packing slip and original packaging (gift box and keepsake pouch) with the shipment. Please be sure to pack the items securely.
  

Does Susan Shaw use real pearls?

All items are made using genuine freshwater pearls or semi-precious stones, including genuine turquoise, quartz, coral, onyx, and agate, with the exception of our Cotton Pearls and imitation Pearl Cabs. Additional information on product materials can be found in the “Details” section of each product page. Our cotton pearl collection is unique and unlike genuine pearls. A cotton pearl contains a tightly wound inner-layer of cotton with a paper-maché-like outer layer. They are extremely lightweight, giving you the look of bigger pearls without the heavy feel. 

What length are Susan Shaw pieces?

The majority of our short necklaces are 16 inches with a 3 inch extender chain, made to be comfortably worn between 16-19 inches.  Long necklaces are generally 30 inches.

Bracelets are generally 7.5-8 inches, depending on the design and materials used. Additional information on specific product measurements can be found in the “Details” section of each product page, as well as photographs of the jewelry on a model to give you a better idea of the size.

Earring size is specified in the “Details” section of each product page. Rings are one-size-fits-most, and are bendable.

How should I care for Susan Shaw jewelry?

As is the case with all plated jewelry regardless of manufacturer or method of plating, alcohol based sprays (such as perfume and hairspray), if sprayed directly onto the pieces, may over time eat away at the silver or gold plating.  In order to preserve the original state of the jewelry, Susan Shaw suggests you simply apply your sprays before putting on any jewelry. To clean your jewelry, use a dry microfiber cloth. Each order comes with a Care Card with additional information.
