How would you describe your personal style?
Classic and polished but comfortable. I grew up in Utah and live in the South now, but I find myself drawn most to New England styles and even some European fashion (I especially love following London influencers). My goal with fashion is to make it look timeless and effortless — I want to look like I tried without looking like I tried too hard.
What initially drew you to Susan Shaw, and what keeps you coming back to the brand?
Susan Shaw's pieces are bold without being loud, classic without feeling dated, and affordable yet so high quality. I love their pieces because they can be dressed up or down — plus, their jewelry makes a great gift since their pieces don't feel generic, but everyone likes them! (The Rectangle Ring is my go-to gift — it's adjustable, so you don't have to stress about sizing, but it looks way more expensive than it is. I gave one to our nanny and she wears it every single day.)
What makes a piece of jewelry feel timeless to you?
Gold over silver, clean shapes, nothing too chunky and it has to go with everything. The pieces I reach for the most, year after year, are the ones that work with a t-shirt and with a cocktail dress. That's the test.
Do you have a favorite Susan Shaw piece right now? How are you styling it this season?
The Mary Cross Studs are by far my most-worn Susan Shaw piece because they go with literally everything. They're simple enough for a t-shirt and jeans day but still feel special with a dress. I wore them with 4 different outfits in this month's photoshoot for upcoming blog content!
What's one styling tip you always come back to when you want to feel put-together?
Good jewelry will elevate the most basic outfit and make me feel better about myself when I'm feeling meh after a rough night of sleep (I have two young boys). Everyone talks about how blush is a must-have, but I think earrings are underrated for looking put-together. They make my complexion look brighter, make me feel more polished — and they stay on longer than blush. ;)
